Our booth at Wintermist’s Festival of the Rose (Caid’s Queen’s Arts & Sciences Extravaganza). We had a great time!
However much the Bahr might grumble, she really enjoys Roadtrip Tetris. In the top photo, it was a little hectic, because it was 7:30am (we had to be in Bakersfield by 9am - we didn’t arrive until 9:30-ish? 10-ish?), and I (the Bahr) hadn’t yet had my first cup of caffeine (which I didn’t get until after we were on-site and had the pavilion up, whereupon the Wulf went and killed some McDonalds and brought it back to the
The second photo is the morning after, because I forgot to take a photo of this immediately after we loaded the BahrMobile back up. The only 2 things missing from the photo are the car charger (labeled “power” in the 1st photo), and the green spare clothes bag. That green bag came back home in the blue basket (lower right corner), and the charger was on top of the tables, in front of the long Displays box. The helm was too hot to carry, at the end of the event, so I tucked it into that conveniently-sized canvas bag, and I did a better job of packing the armour into the Budweiser bucket.
We had a great time at Festival of the Rose! We met some great people, saw old friends, had a nice sit-down chat with one of our longest-known, closest friends, saw beautiful arts and sciences displays, and got some people interested in our custom work. We love doing custom pieces.
Even the drive from San Gabriel to Bakersfield was pretty darned good! And the return trip was even better (no time crunch). I keep forgetting how pretty it is… But then I remember how beautiful Valencia was, before the urban sprawl…
Lovely event, great people, Wintermist, we enjoyed coming to your event!
I’m posting 3 pics this time, because I’m so excited about all three. The pentagram box has cutouts AND inlay. Look at the vinework on that! EEEE! The Lists Shield is Ursula Messerschmitt’s device, “Vert, a bear’s head cabossed argent,” and it looks so much better live than in photographs. The box has a Caidan Cross on it (SCA… harmless historical nuts), and came out just BEYOOTIFUL! They’re in our Square store.
Festival of the Rose!
Wulfenbahr Arts will be at the SCA’s Festival of the Rose in Bakersfield, CA, tomorrow. If you use code FOTR at checkout, you will receive 5% your entire order, the ability to pick it up at FotR, and your choice of magnet at time of pick-up (as our abject apology for Square’s charging your shipping). If you don’t pick it up at FotR, we will ship out your order on Monday (so you still get the 5% discount, but we don’t get to see your shining face on Saturday). It’s win-win!
